The Nike Air Max 97 Koi Gold is a shoe whose design was inspired by Japanese bullet trains and the color of the koi fish.

This iteration of the Nike Air Max 97 is made with a white mesh and suede upper. The thin wavy lines that go around the upper alternate between a strip of mesh and a strip of suede as they move down toward the midsole. A thick University Gold mudguard made of suede rounds out the entire bottom of the upper, with cutouts above each arch featuring an orange fish scale pattern and a white Nike Swoosh. The heel features a University Gold pull tab, and the tongue features the Nike Swoosh in white. Underfoot, you’ll find a white rubber outsole sitting on top of transparent Air Max units that stretch under the entire foot. An off-white outsole completes the look.
