The Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next Gayakusao Red represents a collaboration between Nike and Tokyo-based designer, Jun Takahashi, and his fashion house, Undercover. Gayakusou is a nod to the way Jun Takahashi likes to run, in a counterclockwise direction.

The red colorway of the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next X Gayakusao features an upper with a base of semi-translucent FlyWeave with synthetic navy and scarlet overlays. The side panel Nike Swoosh is constructed of a navy, mesh-like material, and Nike branding appears on the Navy tongue tag. Gayakusao branding peppers the upper and Undercover branding adorns a medial overlay. The red FlyKnit collar makes the shoe fit like a sock, and white laces slip through side sashes for a more secure feeling over the forefoot.

What we love most about this sneaker is the ZoomX midsole with its reactive properties and carbon fiber spring plate. The matching outsole features vents cut into its traction pattern to allow the ZoomX to expand. The Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next Gayakusao Red was released on July 9, 2021, for $290 retail.
