The Casio G-Shock GM-5600SG-9 is a multi-function digital timepiece with a stainless steel case and transparent resin band. The case is 43.2mm wide with a softened octagonal bezel, lug ends, face, and hardware rendered in gold tone ionic plating. Functions include shock resistance, 200m water resistance, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, a flash alert, and an electro-luminescent backlight with afterglow that displays blue-green, among others.

The G-Shock brand is known for constantly pursuing watch designs that meet their rigorous standards of toughness and shock resistance, and the watch is part of the stylish Metal Covered line, which was inspired by a gold ingot, typically identified as a sturdy and valuable bar of gold. The GM-5600SG-9 was refined from its earlier generation to feature evolutions in quality, with an update to its exterior and wearability.
