Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway’s second signature sneaker, the Nike Air Penny 2, was originally released during the 1996-97 NBA season. The Nike Air Penny 2 Stussy Fossil emerged more than 25 years later with a new look.

Nike teamed up with Stussy for this version of the Air Penny 2, which featured an off-white hemp canvas along with stitching throughout the shoe that matched it. It also had the Stussy logo on the lateral forefoot and the Swoosh on both the tongue and heel. It included a handful of performance features, too, like a Phylon midsole that made the sneaker lighter than it would have been otherwise and equipped it with a responsive Zoom Air cushioning system.

What our experts liked best about this Air Penny 2, though, was that it put Hardaway’s signature sneaker in a new light by outfitting it in a colorway we hadn’t seen before. That alone made the sneaker look more modern while still giving us a strong sense of nostalgia. The Nike Air Penny 2 Stussy Fossil was released on February 1, 2023, for $200.
